I would like to buy a set top box but I don't know which one to get. Could someone please recommend a good reliable one that isn't too dear. Many thanks.

i think the benefits outweigh the problems though as i now get stacks of channels, and with my current digibox can also record two channels at the same time to a hard drive of memeory.

I had a sagem and never got more than 6 channels, with numberous people and moving of the aerial, I have gone back to NTL on digital and never been happier, my family have also gone back to NTL and ditched the boxes. My sister managed to get 54 channels but then it would freeze and take forever to come back on. Sorry to rant.
