I use a broadband service through my standard BT phone line, and it is generally very reliable. However, when the powered gates to my drive are opened, the broadband link always drops. Any idea what mght cause this, and how to resolve?

are the gates connected to any kind of remote system using the phone line? ive seen gates that txt the owner to let them know if the gates are open/closed etc
