General Greetings Topic.......
8 Answers
Following on from naz-nomad's thread below - perhaps the AB Ed could remove the Christmas Topic & replace it with a 'General Greetings' one - with sub-cat's of whatever AB'ers would like to see -a Birthday one would be nice!
(This could also still include Christmas, Easter & other special occasions, etc.).

For a looooooooooooong long time I was all in favour of a greetings section, now though, I'm not so sure. More and more lately our beloved site has just become a joke, with folks posting whatever enters their head (well it's there for a nano-second before they think of summet else anyway). I mean, have you seen the bogey's Q (!?) in B&S? I dread to think what'd happen to a greetings category if it came about.
Awesome idea if people would stick to what you intended it for, but I can't see it happening- can you?

A'noon BOO - lovely & sunny here in South Beds too! We're off out soon to make the most of it - whilst it lasts!
I did consider those points before I posted my question - but thought it would be nice to keep birthdays, etc., all under one roof, so to speak!
I haven't perused AB this morning, so haven't seen the bogey Q & I'm glad I haven't cos we're having lunch when we get back & I'd only be thinking of them when eating my sprouts - uurrgg!
It's such a shame these silly immature AB'ers spoil it for others!
Have a lovely day.....

B00 is very right, just read thru B&S and it is hard to decide where some people are at with their heads on there. I have not been on as much over the busy season at work, but I have to say there is an element on here, and particularly B&S that seem to post questions just to be sure their exostemce is validated.
I have advocated a greetings category for a long time now and this is an ideal opportunity for the Editor to smoothly merge the seasonal greetings thread into a more general greetings topic.
It should also have special celebration curtains, unlike the orange/mustard regular drapes.

Hi Dotty - just got back in again, so still haven't looked at B&S - although after reading BOO's post, it makes me wonder whether it's worth it anyway!
Even though I don't frequent AB as much as I used to, I thought a General Greetings topic, with sub-cat's, might have been useful.
If the Ed thinks otherwise - ne'er mind - it was just a suggestion!
Back out again - nite, nite.

Hi Smudge...Could I add to this idea that among the seaons's greetings sub-cats could be a renunion or "looking for" type category where lapsed AB'ers like myself who have returned after a year or more could send greetings to AB'er's with whom they had shared many good times on the site. (mind you I didn't have to look too hard to find most of you!).
