i think this is one of the best love songs ever written.
its all about emotion and feelings that are deep inside us. (i think) but i also know its not a true love song.
it not your Romeo and Juliette type of song... it would be nice to get a couple of other peoples opinions.

love song or just another pop song ??

ps. i dont want this in "music" and i do think its a B&S sort of subject.

i think its a load of wobbly tripe!
Well funky, I do like coldplay and downloaded the track especially to listen to it.

Maybe it will grow on me but I doubt it, it sounded more like music to die to.

Sorry!!
I think its a great song its emotional, heroic and its one of those songs that give you goosebumps when you hear it. i rented Me, You and Dupree last nite and that song is in it!
I have just read my earlier post!!! "downloaded the track especially to listen to it" What other reason would there be lol
We say the silliest thing sometimes!!!
I love that song. I'm also listening to Run by snowpatrol which is gorgeous.

I love that song but the one I love best by them is The Scientist I have it on my space page.
Pity he can't sing
It's a ripoff of a U2 song. Even the video quite blatantly nicks from "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own."
I dont understand why everyone thinks this is a depressing song. Its beautiful, its all about hope and loving someone. I love it and when the guitar kicks in, just before the "tears streaming down your face bit" it puts a smile on my face everytime. I think its there best song, I love it, them, Devon did good!
Oh and Panic button, I think hes just got one of those kooky voices. Would never win x~factor but then neither would Bowie, or Bob Dylan.
It is a great song and Coldplay are one of my faves but not too sure about this lyric!:

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

What's that about?

funky, i think we all have our own definitions of what a love song is and what it means depending on our own experiences. Personally i have never thought of this song as a love song but i can see why others would interpret it that way, does that make any sense at all????? lol.
Bob Dylan can't sing either
As we all know, experiencing music is an entirely subjective experience - one man's Stone Roses is another man's Guns 'n' Roses.

Speking personally, I loathe Coldplay with a passion you can only dream of. The wobbly 'I'm so sensitive' voice, the sub-sixth form poetry lyrics, the plodding arrangements, I just think they are ghastly but ...

that's just my opinion - which you asked for.

To compensate, try 'If You Could Read My Mind' by Gordon Lightfoot, to hear how it should be done - again in my opinion, but i do know what I'm talking about - trust me!
