why cant i seem to download limewire i just get the logo but cant go into it can someone please tell me whats wrong in laymens terms please not computer talk

Limewire supports illeagal file sharing and was probably shut down along with Kazaa, not knowing this sites take on file sharing i cant re-direct you to another program but if you google p2p then u will find what ure lookin for .

I did have this problem a while back with "morpheus" and no matter how many times i uninstalled/reinstalled and changed settings and configured, it would always have the same problem.
For you it could be any number of reasons why its not working (i.e memory/corrupt files or wrong operating system)
I will have to do a litlle bit of computer talk (sorry) but its the only way to do it.

I went through the following steps when i had my problem a while back.

- Uninstall and reinstall

if its still not working try these

- turn off any firewalls temporarily and retry.

- if you can get into limewire, but its not connecting to any servers try changing your port settings in settings (a quick google will bring up appropiate alternative port settings)

Also there's some bugfixes linked on the limewire website... download and try replacing these with the current ones in the limewire folder.

Limewire is a very buggy program and might just not work after all these. and limewire is illgel in most places of the world (even if you dont recieve money for it)

Using the program isn't illegal per se, but downloading or sharing any copyrighted material (ie virtually anything most people would want) without the express permission of the copyright holder IS illegal.

I dare say that you know people who habitually drive over the speed limit or who smoke dope - just because your friends are doing it doesn't make it legal.

Sorry to break it to you chefalo, but our friend is right.. sharing copyrighted material is illegal.. its effectively the same as selling copied CD's/DVD's.

What I do is link my PC to my hifi, and I have this thing on MSN where I pay so much a month and can 'listen' to a smuch as I like, when I like.. It costs extra to 'download' stuff though. Well worth it I think though.
