Does anyone have any experience of wireless TV links ?
7 Answers
Hi, Want to put a TV in a bedroom, above the lounge, but can't (won't !) run cable all round the house (or thru the ceiling). A wireless link seems the obvious solution but do they work ? Any recommendations ?

The links I've seen in Maplins start at around 30, about the same as the set top ariel as I recall. What one have you got, provider ? Could give it another go, I guess. And freeview would be an added bonus !
We live in the US and we needed to set up a wireless cable box for our tv which we had to put 20 feet away from the cable outlet in the wall. Anyway we bought the wireless box thingy and it worked, marginally! Every time our neighbor used their microwave or their cordless phone it caused interference on our tv. Apparently other electrical devises in the wireless path will interfer with the signal. This was a couple of years ago so maybe the technology has improved?

That was a concern for me too, but think they must've sorted that out now.

weve got this one at home http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=4 4469&criteria=wireless%20tv&doy=16m1 and we use it to get sky upstairs without having to run cables. It does get affected if we put our microwave on but we have a good signal otherwise.
Maplin have one on special offer at the moment too http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=4 2501&criteria=wireless%20tv&doy=16m1 for 30

Thanks for that, redcrx, exactly what I was after, someone who's actually used these things. Thing with those ones tho' is space is limited, plus I wasn't sure about this 'lining the eye up' on the transmittor, so when I saw the scart one thought looked the best idea. Guess I'll have to try get to Maplins !
