I use dry Italian Seasoning myself. Since all microwaves are different - I suggest cooking for 3 minutes at a time - until they are the degree of doneness that pleases you.
If I have leftovers, I crumble them up, put some olive oil & mayo & chopped garlic and/or chopped onion and sometimes more Italian Seasoning - stir it up - put it in a covered container. The next day it makes a great wrap or sandwich - or just on top of a nice salad. It is one of my very favorite wraps!!!

Cook them in the oven wrapped in foil parcels - one bit of foil (big enough to wrap around salmon steak with some excess) per person.
1. Pre-heat oven (medium)
2. Lay each bit of foil out on your work surface
3. Put salmon steak in centre of each
4. Add whatever flavourings you want, making sure to include some sort of liquid so the fish will steam - lemon slices/juice, salt/pepper, few blobs of butter of oil, few capers, garlic slices, white wine, paprika... etc.
5. Wrap up each parcel in style of cornish pasty - so there's a big 'seam' along top, securely folded up.
6. Chuck them in the oven for about 20 min, check them after this time- can always re-fold parcels and put back in for longer.
The genius of this method is... no washing up!
