I went to a link off the main online gambling story on the BBC web site where it claims the average online gambling debt in the UK is 25,000.

This sounds like a load of rubbish to me and there is no mention of how this crazy figure was arrived at. Can anyone out there shed any light on this?

Do you know any gambling addicts?

It doesn't sound like rubbish to me

Well quantify that figure for me then, that statement is in a paragraph on its own with no reference to anything except that 4 million people play each month. 4 million people at 25000 each makes 100 trillion and that is rubbish.

Does anybody actually know what that figure of an average of 25000 in debt actually means?
Question Author
Sorry 100 billion but it's still more money than can be accounted for.
Of course it's nonsense.
