this pc is not mine i dont have one hence am about to buy a midi hifi with new technology that enables me to transfer cd to mp3 at the push of a button anyone shed any light,the shop assistants are clueless.

Check the specifications carefully. Some of these 'hi-fis' only 'rip' an individual track with no facility for naming it etc. Also, they may be limited in the 'ripping' quality (much less than on a PC). You have been warned!
