Just testing that I can post folks..been having trouble with my computer and logged on earlier to find I was a few years younger ...! Just ignore me if this comes up . Hope you all are OK in this dreadful weather. Shaney.
Hi Shaney--I missed all the fun. We were busy tying things down or retrieving things that had blown away. I hate this weather. My son has had some tiles come off his roof--I do hope he doesn't try to fix them himself.
Hi rogerrr....Roofs ! We are still waiting and disputing with our insurers since last August when we had some guttering broken and the lead flashing split due to the torrential rain which then poured through our kitchen ceiling !!
I have just rescued a dustbin lid from a tree and found my wheelie bin half way up the garden !
I loathe this too ....plays my arthritics up ..never mind all change for a cold snap next week by the looks of the forecast . Cold and dry is much more bearable !
Campbell cat went out for her early morning stroll, and I looked out of the bedroom window to see her swaying spectacularly in the tall tree opposite. (She labours under this misapprehension that she will catch any bird sitting in there). She came down safely after a few minutes.
We're in one piece at present, but our neighbour's fence has been blowing away.
Animals are funny ..Old Shaney wouldn't even put his nose outside today if he could help it and we only had a quick trot round the block ..I have had to go outside with him this evening in this lot with a torch ....he is going blind so I think because he can't see properly he is a bit frightened by the noise.
There has been an awful lot of damage around ...really tragic things on the news . Most of the roads out of our small coastal town are closed to traffic as it so flat out in countryside I expect they are worried about flooding . My son just managed to drive back across before they shut the bridge. Let's hope it soon abates .
There are cars all over the place and even a bus in a field here--some people have come off a lot worse.
Our lad decided to listen to us and get someone else to fix the roof ---I can now stop worrying.
This weather gets me too--I have asthma and the wind really is a b. pain.
Hope everybody gets through this with not too much aggro--to quote an old pal, who is much missed.
I hope so to rogerr ...glad your son took your good advice ....just been up the garden .. again ...with Shaney and it seems to have dropped a bit .....I think we over the worse ....take care and thanks for this little chat everyone ...Sleep well.
