Is the meaning of life not to wait? every thing waights, from the moment is exists it waits to be born, to eat to sleep to bread to hunt to get somewhere to find someone to start a job to finish school to retire to go somewhere to be someone to get old to die!!!!! the first and last thing we do is wait, all our lives if we didn't have to wait for something nothing would ever change, nothing would matter any more. It's not actually being there that drives us it's the waiting to get there that keeps us going and when we do get there we wont something else.. When someone looses all hope and reason for living there still waiting for either death, a chance to change things etc.. all we live for is to wait for something, If we couldn't wait we wouldn't be able to live because we would have nothing to live for.. !!!!! So there you go, the meaning of Life explained.... when we stop waiting we stop living!!

sorry but I disagree...
The purpose of being "alive" is to better ourselves and elevate ourselves. That way we can achieve greatness in this world and possibly (if u blv in religion) draw us closer to a higher source.
When the universe was created it was not necessary, God was complete...he did not need to "give"...but being godlike is being able to give selflessly...thats what separates ordinary man from godlike people...those that give are emulating God and thus drawing themselves closer...
I know its all a bit odd the answer, but being selfish is un-Godlike.
Being alive is our chance to improve the world around us, with your views, we'd be here and it would all be pointless?
think about this, if we are all just an accident, then its an amazing coincidence! The universe is so complex that simply being an accident would be impossible...lift the cover of this facade and you'll probably recognise that there is some "force" keeping it all going and safely at that!
