The Asian market in the UK for their products is vast, and the decision makes sound commercial sense. I don't think it was a moral judgement, just looking after their market share.

When this programme first started I watched it for a short while before deciding it was trash aimed at trash. My son and daughter called me a cultural snob.
TalkTalk (Carphone Warehouse) called me a couple of weeks ago and convinced me to take their service telling me "Sign up now, you can always cancel within the first month if not happy."
I told my son I had switched. He informed me that they sponsor "that cr*p Big Brother". Wow, how his view had changed after a few years.
So I duly cancelled.
The fact that have now withdrawn their sponsorship is irrelevant: I cancelled on the basis of having watched the programme when it first started and not wanting to be involved with a company associated with this 'entertainment'.

No, I doubt 23,000 people do watch Big Brother. Given the number of complaints in the first wave, about 200 or so people watch Big Brother, and the other 22,000 or so people just thought they would join the crowd.
I bet most of the people that complained are white Brits, just thinking that the Muslims would be offended by the events on the TV. The Muslims probably couldn't give a t0ss, although now seeing the amount of complaints, they probably are in on the act now too.
On your second note Gina, you wouldn't be trying to stir up trouble would you?!
