Weather in Maldives

Please tell me what the weather is like in the Maldives in July, as I'm thinking of going for my honeymoon. But I've been told its the rainy season, is this true

I have been to the Maldives in July. Yes it did rain a lot - but only in short bursts. It would rain very hard for about 20 minutes, then clear up again. Always very hot though.
