Mark Haddon cleverly writes the novel using the main character - Christopher - as the author and narrator. By telling the story from this first person perspective, he provides the reader with an insight into the mind of a person with Asperger's Syndrome.
He also uses other characters throughout to provide information that Christopher cannot i.e. Father's speech and Mother's letters. Thus, Christopher's literal and metaphorical journey is told.
This great piece of fiction is unusual, intriguing, funny and unforgettable.
