Do I need to do any thing before i unplug the disco memory apart from making sure the info has gone into it and its led has stoped flashing,ime using win xp sp2 the reason i asked is the only thing i did yesterday was use th e thing and it took me half an hour to got my pc going all the best
if you are getting problems like this make sure that you close any folders you have open on the stick before taking it out. You may have a lot of background processes slowing your machine down as well.
Although USB drives are theoretically hot-swappable, it s generally best to "eject" them from within My Computer or to use the "Safely Remove Hardware" tool that sits in the System Tray next to your clock just in case any data is being cached when you pull the drive out.
Thanks for pointing that tool out ,ive never noticed it before ,but ile use it from now on ,some thing else ive learnt today ,it never stops.
