Most airlines will allow each economy class passenger just one bag.
But like I say, contact your airline. I flew with China Eastern Airlines last week and my ticket said that my baggage allowance was 20kg. I had 26kg of baggage, so contacted the airline. They explained that I was entitled to check in two cases, each up to 20kg in weight. The lady then explained that the airline will accept cases up to 24kg in weight without any problems. For an economy class passenger, 48kg of checked baggage is very good!
