ive only watched bits and now all this press about racism is confussing me what exactly went on?

Jade and Shilpa got into an argy bargy about Oxo cubes, as everyone does, and now there are reports of racist behaviour going on.

A couple of people complain... the next day, several thousand people complain. Channel 4 refuse to take the program off air (possibly) because the Big Brother viewing figures haven risen sharply after what has been the most unsucessful Celebrity version so far.

Carphone Warehouse withdraw their sponsorship, thinking of their Asian clientel here in the UK. They must buy a lot of handsets, otherwise I wouldn't think they would be bothered.

It's all got out of control, and it seems that the recent events will now make this the most notorious CBB so far.

Still, Oxo may come out of this rather well...

Before Oxogate there was a big hoo har about the way Shilpa cooked the chicken. They were constantly going on at her and then wouldn't eat the chicken as they said it was undercooked.

There have been other underlying backstabbing events too - my brain hurts so I can't remember any more.

And now Jade got caught calling Shilpa, Shilpa F**kinpodums, ****podum, poppadums. Which is not funny at all, racist.
She was asked about this in the diary room and she couldn't give a good explaination and made it worse, now, that was funny.

Among Jade's comments were: " I've seen how she goes in and out of people's *********", as well as suggesting Shetty "makes [her] skin crawl". She also refered to Shetty as 'Shilpa Poppadom'.

Earlier in the programme, Jackiey inquired whether Shilpa lived "in a house or in a shack?". She asked Shilpa about her life in India and was surprised when Shilpa said: "I have the entire seventh floor to myself". This prompted Jackiey to call her "Princess". Subsequently, she refused to pronounce her name correctly and addressed her as "the Indian" or "Princess"

I am not on anyones side but Germaine is the biggest racist there, he called Jackiey white trash, he is the one that goes on about colour all the time yet nothing is said about that. It appears to me it is just a clash of class where someone feels iferior because of their upbringing and also maybe Shilpa has been pampered in her her life and is not used to people talking back to her. Jade is just mouthy and loud and C4 knew this before she went back in so if anyone is to blame I would blame them. I personally feel that this is the sorriest bunch of so called celebs they have ever had.

I agree with jennymac, there has been racism on both sides, not just from Jade!

Scrape past all the snipey comments, and what your left with is a basic clash of personalities.

Jade and Shilpa were never going to be friends, be they any race or nationality.

I think if you go into youtube you could see the clip about the allege Jermaine and white trash incident. He didn't actually call Jacky white trash, he said he didn't wasnt to use the word the others had brought up to call b/c she's a human being and he wants to help her.
The term white trash was originally used by white anyway, same like trailer trash, just meaning something is rubbish, americans use it all the time.
Now, I need to know who said it first.

Wasn't it Ken Wotsit who referred to them as white trash. I personally think there was no racism on Jades part, just lack of understanding and maybe a bit of ignorance.

There was racism on Danielle and Jo's part and on Jade's to an extent which I had previously thought was just bullying from her.


The constant mocking of Shilpa's accent from Danielle and Jo and even occasionally Jade went OTT and Danielle saying she should F Off back home cause she can't even speak proper english - when she's so articulate herself - LOL

Jo asked if Indians were were so thin because they undercooked all their food and she then mocked Shilpa's accent again and said she hated her sticking her fingers in her food all the time.

To which Danielle asked do Indians eat with their hands
