Did Michael Caine actually say the line "Don't throw bloody spears at me" or anything similar in Zulu?

Simply put...... NO. This is another urban myth. Zulu is released on region 2 dvd in August 02
Agreed - as a bit of a buff - Micheal Caine was cast as a typical British "Toff" Officer and as such the character would never have lowered himself to utter such "base and common" words!!
The whole point about this imagined quote is to imitate Michael Caine's accent, which he has used in just about every film, apart from 'Zulu' when he played a plummy-voice upper-class officer type. The notion of MC shouting in his standard Cockney is pretty funny, but it is made up for comedy purposes only.
I was under the impression that this saying came about during a Parkison interview where MC was talking about the making of Zulu.
