Microsoft Outlook emails

It's really strange but when I start to write an email, the writing is always in white. I have defaulted it to black every time I open it but once I close it down, it starts in white again. Is there something I'm missing?

Tools > Options > Compose > Font settings (next to 'Mail', not 'News') > [Select colour as black} > OK > Apply > OK
