Linking a bluetooth phone to a laptop

I've got a bluetooth enabled motorola pbl and I want to link it to my Toshiba (Windows XP) laptop. Can I just buy any usb bluetooth adapter / dongle or do I need anything specific??? Thanks in advance.

any half decent dongle will do ...as long as its new you should be fine ...
You could probably use the built-in infra-red ports as well, if it's just to transfer stuff.
You need to enable the infra-red port on your phone and lap-top, then, just point the sensors at eachother.
Once you've done that, right-click on the file you want to trasfer, go down to "Send to" and the infra-red device (in this case your phone) should be shown. Just drag the file on to it to copy it across.
Turn off infra-red on your phone, when done as it will use up the battery.
On the phone, look in "connections" or something similar to find the infra-red port switch.
Can't remember where it is on a laptop, I'm afraid...somwhere in your control panel.
It's a lot less tempremental than Bluetooth, and needs no additional equipment.

Yes any decent one will do. Just remember to have the software cd, that came with your phone it will help a great deal!!!
