starting problem

i have a N reg astra van, the head gasket went last week and ever since i have replaced it i have had problems starting van hot or cold.

i have done a compression test . ok
check all fuel connections. ok

i think the fuel may be draining back into the fuel tank because if i keep cranking the engine over it will start then it runs fine.

if anyone has any info please advise..
