Long haul flight

Does anyone know what time scale is classed as a "long haul flight"?

the usual rule-of-thumb definition is 'further than Florida', since UK travel companies generally like to pretend that Disneyworld is less than a long-haul distance away. That would make it eight hours-plus. There may be an official definition somewhere, though.

Well Cardiff Airport calls its Orlando flights long haul, and I'd certainly call New York and Boston from the UK long haul.

I've seen a definition of 6 hours or more (on airlinequality.com); I'd probably define it myself as anywhere outside Europe and North Africa which is probably saying roughly the same thing.

It is often classied as anything inter-continental, but companies that have different classes of travel depending on distance will have a policy that states how long. 8 or 10 hours would be common.
