Bergerac region wines

We are going on holiday in May to a village just outside Bergerac in France - I would like to know something about the local wines in the region (still trying to impress my wife after 23 years) - particularly white wine (as she is not a fan of red). Any info would help - especially details of any light, white wines from the region
