but not if he's renting it
and if he's mortgaged it, and you move in and pay the mortgage for 25 yrs, he gets the whole house in 25 years so THAT's not a good idea.....
oh, and if he's paid cash for it, and the police are after him, then you may find the transfer is voided.
oh, and if there is a question to HIS title, then he can try but THAT may be voided by the other owner....
Oh, and if he is 87 nad goinng into a home, then that wont work
similarly if he gives it to you and stays inn it, then that wont work for inheritance tax purposes
Oh, if it is his other house, and youdont own one yet, and are planning to sell it three weeks afterwards
then hewould or may still be taxed for Capital Gains
other than that, there is no reason why he shouldnt
See a solicitor and dont try to do it yourself, as some of these courses of actions can't be unwound, once you see the tax bill.
