What would be the correct word to decribe the queens coronation in a past tense?
e.g when the Queen was ________
'coronated' seems ro be right english spelling conventions wise but somehow it doesn't sound right .

Elizabeth succeeded to the throne on 30 Jan 1952 or thereabouts, and was crowned 1953.
The western ideas of Kingship mean that tht the crowning is really a confirnation of what has happened. - Everyone knew she would be queen afeer George VI, and that her won would succeed her.
In the East, coronation is much more important. In Byzantium, the successor was the first son born after the coronation (porpyrogeniture). So n the East Anointing was MUCH more important.
