Can anyone help me reason this out.

I think the solution is expletive as Nixon was such an abusive guy, but can't reason out the clue.

The answer is expletive. The famous Watergate tapes of Nixon ranting in the White House were 'doctored' before they went before the Special Prosecutor and the expletives were removed

Regarding Nixon I was speaking from memory and didn't realise that wikipedia had a section on it- thanks. K
