28 Answers
If you are not a, "religious," person, in the commonly accepted meaning of the term, have you ever had an experience that you would describe, in the absence of any other explanation, as, "Spiritual?"

I believe that the Bible is trustworthy and true, and any experience that I may have, would have to conform to the teaching in the Bible in order for me to trust it.
For example, some "Christians" claim to be given a "word of knowledge" that can direct them to offer advice, prophecy, interpreatation etc, but I have found this uneasy, as often they appear to contravene scripture.
I do not doubt for a moment that they receive something supernatural, but from where? That is why we are instructed to, "test the spirits."

Theland...just WHY did you ask this question in the first place? There is no mention of the bible in the question asked.Maybe you have used this thread to spread your christian propaganda?
You state that the bible is trustworthy.I reject that statement.
If you are going to argue from the bible then you first of all need to at least try to show us that the bible is trustworthy...something that you have consistently failed to do on AB. To continue to state that you "believe" it to be true is no more to the point than muslims stateing that the koran is true or Krishnas stating that the Bhagavad gita is true.
And how do you know that YOU are not the one who is decieved? Because if you were , you wouldnt know it would you?

Wizard69 - True, if I was being truly deceived, then I wouldn't know it, obviously.
But, I believe the Bible to be true, because it teaches accurately the human condition, and I am utterly convinced by its prophecies.
I see the world today, particularly in the Middle East, as the ongoing fulfillment of bible prophecy.
I look to Israels' miraculous history, and miraculous survival, and I am convinced that Gods word is true.

jehovahs witnesses believe just the same things and yet you would have them down as decieved would you not?
"I believe". How many times do you have to say that Theland.WE ALL KNOW YOU ******* BELIEVE.
(apologies there..my cup frotheth over again)...
The point is , many religious groups "believe" because they can see just as much "evidence" in their own particular belief system as you find in yours. It dont make it so..............................

Wizard69 - There is always an, "AND" in the belief systems you gave an example of.
Jehovahs Witnesses have the Bible AND the writings of Russell, their founder, with Mormons it's AND the writings of Joseph Smith, (Book of Mormon), with R.C.'s it's AND tradition, there is always an AND.
Why?
Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible is enough, sufficient, and true, or so I ... er ... believe.

I don't believe, I know, that all those who answered the question in the first place have been deceived by the original postee. This will not fool me in the future because any question put by that person will now be avoided.
Many people who answer and ask the questions on "answerbank" have a wide scope of literary knowledge to fall back on but if I favoured a particular piece of work, I would not apply it to everything on here.
If I said I'd been visited by an alien from another planet and he gave me a book to live by and I said to every question on here," It must be true and trustworthy because it (the alien) said so". You'd think my username was true.

The accurate Bible prophecies in regard to the Middle East and the history of Israel, contribute to the evidence that leads me to trust it as the authentic word of God. That being so, I similarly trust it when it speaks of other matters, such as spiritual deception.
Therefore, my original question was not designed to lure you into a debate and then proselytise, but to enquire as to how many people on here had experienced etc as to my question above.
I unreservedly apologise if you think that I have not respectfully responded to your posts with integrity and honesty.
I realise that such experiences are highly personal and if I am perceived as insensitive, then I apologise for that also, as this was not my intention.
