i recently had a cylinder replaced and the hot water now does not work.
the boiler relies on convection to heat the
cylinder (indirect coil type) and the feed pipe to the coil gets warm up to 900mm from the tank and no further.all the radiators
get hot and the plumber has tried various things without success - any idears please?
thanks.

Has he plumbed it in correctly? The feed pipe should be to the top inlet of the indirect coil on a convection system which is opposite to a pumped system. I would install a pump in any case as it a requirement of part L of the building regs now and it should have been upgraded with the new cylinder by you're plumber.
yes it was plumbed in the same as the old cylinder. the replacement is the same as the
old cylinder - i have also tried bleeding approx. 3 pints of water from the coil feed, and turning the boiler temp. up - nothing seems to work.
nothing has been changed other than the cylinder so it does not seem to make sense
why it will not know work
