Electric Steamers
Has anyone got an electric steamer and if so how do they use it - I have been given one, but unfortunately the instructions got damp and melded together and I have no idea of times, etc - it is a three tier one, thanks in advance, if anyone can help?

I also bought a second hand tv and put the make and instructions for in google and hey presto found a company who emailed me one of those adobe reader thingies of the instructions.
Welcome to steam cooking too its great. I use mine for all sorts. Rice,Eggs, fish, meat, veg. Apparently you can do cakes but i have not been there.

Thank you both very much for your helpful suggestions - how do you cook rice in it, Winnie - do you put a bowl with the rice in , in one of the tiers - you can see what a novice I am to this - I have only ever steamed over a pan on the top of the cooker before, and never rice! Does it do it quicker? - and Beryllium - that is a very good idea, I can easily get to Tesco and ask them to photocopy the instructions from another steamer, if they will - I really only want to do veg in it, but if meat can be cooked with advantage, I would do that too. I shall Google the details and see if that will work, too. Many thanks SO FAR!! (hoping for a reply re rice and meat!)
Garden - maybe you can find something here that will give you some ideas:

Thank you BBWChat I clicked the link and learned! I then googled 'using an electric steamer' and found Delia online, my favourite tv cook and learned A LOT! This website is brilliant for all - I can see I am going to have a wonderful time browsing that and cooking!! Damn the diet. Thanks again to everyone.
