That 65 will cover any parts that are required. Even a new (re-conditioned) box if required. So they aren't as robbing as it first looks. It does sound like there is a problem with the internal power supply unit. They aren't too expensive to buy but would you know how to fit one? My recommendation is to pay the 65 to Sky.
You could always try, what I was recomended by a sky engineer, that you tell sky you are thinking of moving to cable ! He says they will then send a engineer around for free ! Worth a try
I used to have extended warranty with Sky for my Sky+box of 99 p.a. until the hard disc wore out. They sent an engineer who replaced it with a reconditioned one which was obvioiusly somebody else's botched repair job cos it conked out the same day.Same thing happened when he came a couple of days later and replaced the botched box with another. In the end I demanded a brand new box.I had that for a couple of years but by then I had cancelled my warranty cos it was cheaper buying one off Ebay and installing it myself which I have done.Tamiya is right. They are robbing dogs.
