All the schools in Birmingham were closed today & tomorrow because of the adverse weather conditions.

Well this got my back up, as every other tom, dick & harry had to make an effort to get into work, for christ sake, it was a couple of inches of snow.

I suspose with the kids breaking up today/tomorrow for half term, did'nt influence some d!ckhead in the council offices by any chance.

So now its war, next time i take my boys out of school for no apparent reason and they ask me what reason they were absent for, can you all assist me in giving the school a good excuse, the funnier the better

I thought the rain was coming down to hard and we couldnt see our way to school so I didnt bother bringing them in in?

the heating broke down at home so i thought, to be safe, we'd all go to florida for a fortnight

I read in an internet chat room for NUS members that they may be holding lightening strikes when the weather gets hotter and so i didn't want to send the kids in if their teachers were sunning thenmselves on the school roof

athley.my tiger feet slippers couldnt handle all the snow, so thought wed better give it a miss? nothing worse than soggy slippers hehehehehe x

Schools in my area were closed as well, and my daughyers daycentre also,
Whats happened to this country?, whn I went to school, we went in all weathers,
Just an excuse for another day off.

Just to say I was also rather incensed by the news that schools will also be shut today. Work shy fops! As if they don't have enough holiday in the year already.

Anyway, an excuse...

My boys will not be in school today as I feel they may learn more from watching <insert inane kids programme here> than from your opportunistic, work shy teaching practices. And <insert bad teacher's name here> smells of stilton, so there! Nerr neerr ne nerrr neerrr. No returns.
