If you have a single carriageway road with a bus lane on the left and a car stops in front of you to turn right, are you allowed to undertake using the bus lane or do you have to wait behind the car?

I'd use the bus lane myself, not sure if its legal or not but done it in front of a police car and they did the same thing
Section 141 of the Highway Code says that you must not overtake if you would have to enter a bus lane during its hours of operation. But sometimes common sense takes over.
Don't do it while the bus lane is in its hours of operation, they will not take your impatience into account when giving out a ticket.
There would be a good chance you would be caught on cctv and get a summons through the post.
To answer the question, No you are not allowed to enter the bus lane to overtake, even when waiting for a car to turn right.
