Dvd Decoder (How do i get one?)

I want to download a dvd decoder onto my computer as i don't have anything on it that enables me to play dvd's, i currently just have windows media player but that just lets me play my music, if i were to download cinePlayer dvd decoder (if you've heard of it) will that take over from my windows media player and totally wipe all my music or will it be separate from that, i did have a thing on my computer when i first got it which enabled me to play dvd's but i had a lot of viruses and had to get everything wiped, so i lost it. I don't think there's a free dvd decoder i can download, any help would be much appreciated.

What version of WMP are you using? 10 plays DVDs (and I think 9).

Yes i do have windows media player 10, but when i put in a dvd to play it always has a little box come up saying that i don't have a dvd decoder installed.

DONT use cliprex, full of adware/malware, took me ages to flippin' get rid of it :(

Sorry meant to add, i know its a bit late but i have only just come across this when i was looking for help with a decoder, just left the message so that other ABer's do not make the same mistake as me!!
