bareback riding
does any one know if it is possible to go full pelt gallop bareback but be sitting the gallop?

My father wouldn't let us ride with saddles since he believed it was safer to fall off than be drug by the foot entangled in a stirrup. We rode bareback for several years, finally owning my first saddle, made by the H.H. Heiser company (and a fine saddle it was) at age 12. But, bareback was the only way to go and we spent many days in the back country galloping at breakneck speed chasing imaginary bad guys...

I was just wondering because a friend of mine says that she can but she hasn't ridden much even with a saddle. I thought she might of been lying so I was just wondering. I'm certainly not going to do it. I have only just had my first trotting expirence. I just want to stick to being in the saddle.
