Who is considered the current fastest guitarist? If Carlos Santana was the fastest American guitarist, and Alvin Lee was the fastest British guitarist of the '60's, where do they stand in a ranking today?

i have seen many videos of guitarist, and when it comes to speed the following have the edge, paul gilbert, john petrucci and yngwie malmasteen. Although one guitarist really stand out, its micheal angelo batio, no doubt. hes picking speed and fingers are really really fast, compared to others. but when it comes to melody with speed id go with paul gilbert.

i have heard and seen many videos of great guitarist, and when it comes to speed, the follwing guitarist have the edge. paul gilbert, joe satriani, and yngwie malmsteen compared to others. but no one can compare to the picking speed and finger coordination of micheal angelo batio. no doubt hes the fastest.
