Are there any legal restrictions on an lgv driver carrying a dog as passenger?

There are no legal restrictions. You can carry a dog (or human!) as long as they are under control and don't distract the driver. Nowadays, the main 'objection' is from the insurers. Most companies policies state that drivers are not allowed to carry any passengers, unless they are employees of the company (this is a real blow to the 'platers' who hitch up and down the country) and I assume this would obviously include dogs. As an owner/driver I can take who I like (and some of them are dogs!!!)
