i wrote to my bank to request the full account history under section 7 of the data protection act,and included a 10 pound postal order. Earlier this week i received the last 12 statments from my account,i requested all my statements in full itemisation of transactions and they have not done this. What is the next step i should be taking as my bank have failed to satisfy my request...? thanx

Ps i have had my bank account alot longer than 12months

I keep all my bank statements for the last 5 years.
My bank only keeps accounts for the last 5 years too.
They charge per statement for copies of ones lost.
Can you not ring them?
You are not entitled to copies of your statements under the Data Protection Act - what you are entitled to is itemisation of the charges - not quite the same thing.

You didn't get this so write again. I don't think you should have to pay again but since you asked for the wrong thing you may do if the bank is being awkward.
At a guess, your aiming for information on bank charges, you were lucky witht he bank for them to send statements, as they can charge 3.00 per statement,
I would highly recommend the following website:

Fool.co.uk

In the search box, put in bank charges, and ur get all the information and drafts of letters, I followed them to the lettter and from bank accounts and credit cards, I have had over 1, 000 refunded.
Good luck
