I have heard that it is cheaper to run electrical appliances at off-peak times. Does anyone know if this is correct, or does it only apply if you have certain tariffs with your supplier?

I've lived in my house for 8 years and only found out i had economy 7 last week.

Thanks for the link.....most interesting !!!
Thanks for the link... I'm gunna have my economy 7 disconnected, I didn't realise that my daytime rate is more expensive because I have economy 7! i've had economy 7 for the last 10 years & never take advantage of it.... I'm not keen on having washing machines etc on whilst i'm sleeping incase of a fire hazard. I ownder how much extra my electricity bills have been over the years because of the higher rate?!
