ford focus door light

hi my ford focusdoor light keeps telling me that a door is open. I know it is something to do with the boot because when i open and shut it it goesoff ten after a bit it flikers and comes back oncan anyone help with this as it is really annoying thanks lee

It is probably a loose connection somewhere in the car door warning circuit and when you slam your boot it reconnects for a short time.

Check all connections.

There's a micro switch in the lock which is probably faulty - Take the cardboard panel off then pull the connector off and bridge the circuit with a bit of silver paper. If this sorts out the light problem then you know the micro switch is faulty - either replace it or just leave it bridged. It will just mean that the boot is not in the system/alarm loop.
