Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Has anybody worked out what the quotation apparently running round the periphery is?
What's the significance of the extra letters contained in some ( all? - but doesn't appear to be all ) clues.

Thanks - Ive now got all the answers and the quotation. It starts in the top right cormer and runs anticlockwise:-
"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook."
I'm assuming that the related quotation ( to be entered under the grid ) has something to do with the extra letters in some of the clues.
ODQ editions 4, 5 or 6 is recommended for finding the quotations.

Haven't quite got all the clues yet: am bit stuck with 14A/1 & 12D. I've got in-pup for 1d, which gives me SPUT? for 14A. For 12D I've got ???ATI (gelati?). Also 30A ?ARED. Gtfl yr help then can try and stretch the mind to the second quote. Many tks.

Still trying to work out what quotation observation of "The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook" refers to. I'm convinced that it's to do with the extra letters in some clues but could be wrong.

am tearing my hair out trying to sort out this 1! i've finished grid, got quotation, but cant fathom out 2nd quote, any ideas yet?

Still looking for inspiration for second quotation. If I come up with anything I shall post it here. I've looked through Oxford Dictionary of Phrase, Fable and Quotation to no avail. The first four extra letters from clues spell out "verb"
( the title of the crossword ) so I'm exploring that avenue.

Eureka! ( Or so I hope! ) Extra letters spell out:-

"Verbum sapienti sat est" ( "A word to the wise is enough" )
