Socket error when connecting to FTP Surfer
1 Answers
I have been using FTP Surfer for nearly 2 years now and have had no previous problems, but recently i have not been able to connect to my servers.
the following error message comes up:
Error receiving response from FTP/HTTP server.
Windows socket error 10038
Socket operation on non-socket.
The company that run FTP Surfer provide very little technical support , and even though i have searched the web, i cannot find any solutions.
anyone help?

If so, try one of the following:
- make sure you're connecting to your FTP servers in passive mode (should be in settings somewhere)
- check your FTP host's website and make sure they haven't switched to SFTP or anything like that
- try a different client (I can recommend filezilla)
