Some people strongly advise disabling "Universal Plug and Play service" in windows. Is this good advice when I am using DSL ? What are the downside issues?

First, why should someone hack into your computer? if someone wants to send you a virus, he can, wheter you have plug and play or not! so just let it run! and if you've got DSL , you're behind a router, this protects you too, against hackers ( but they'll always find a way if they want to get data from your pc). Don't worry BASIC
