Whats this song?

It was out a couple of years ago - here goes - it's an acoustic song - folky - one man and a guitar - there's a repeating lyric that goes something like - i wanna be, closer than..... - the musics key rises slowly throughout the verse until the chorus comes in and the lyrics are something like - on and on and _ _ _ , the _ just keeps coming. (The _ are missing words) The verse and chorus are totally different from each other - but they fit well. The artist i think is called James ? I know its a bit vague but thats all i have to go on......Thanks in advance....Carlos
