time limit on a speeding ticket

what is the current time limit on a speeding ticket. i recieved notice of a speeding this month and i was flashed in August 06. many thanks

I've just done a Google search and come up with this:

The police MUST send you a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days. If they do not, the case is a nonstarter."

Yes, as far as I know it is 14 days. So they are well out of time with this one!!
