Dogs or Cats?

I hate cats. I'm such a dog person.

What do cats do?
Walk around showing you their ar$eholes all day.
They stand at the door wanting to go out, then there straight on the window sil wanting to come back in.
They jump on your lap and claw you.
They sleep most of the time.

Dogs simply have more fun and show more appreciation.

Those selfish cats!!!!!!!

I love dogs and cats - I'm not an either or person. Both have their wonderful and not so wonderful points. Dogs are loyal, affectionate, (sometimes!) intelligent, fun and loving. Cats are independent, clever, quick-witted and very funny. As evidenced my own cat they can also be loyal, very affectionate and so entertaining.

I love them both too, I've only had cats and I think they're wonderful but I can't wait to make a fortune and never have to work again so I can stay at home and look after dogs all day. (Alternatively I'll just have to wait 41 years to retire.)

I agree, cant stand cats! My friends got a cat and every time i attemt to stroke him, he thinks im gonna kill him and hisses at me. Maybe, naturally in the wild, cats are solitury creatures and dont do affection.

I am totally a cat person.
However, I don't hate dogs!

I love the fact that cats are independent, moody and affectionate, a little bit like me!
I can be at work all day without feeling guilty about the cats being alone.
They go out, when they want to, they come back when they feel like it.
When I come home, at least one's at the door to greet me.
When I sit on the sofa, they come and want cuddles.

I can also go away for the weekend without worrying about them.
When I go on holidays, I can ask the neighbours to look after them.

Cats are simple, beautiful and lovable.

I 'm 100% dog lover but what I hate about cats is mainly to do with the fact that if max my dog fouls and I don't clear it up I'm liable to be fined up to �1000 but cats can wonder about cr*****g anywhere, even in somebodies garden and there's nothing you can do about it.If you say anything to the owners they just smirk and say something like " well thats a cats nature"

my cat can do pretty much everthing a dog can he even plays fetch! but i dont hav to walk him in the rain and the snow and he's not likely to chew up my fave shoes just coz i'm late home!

cats are way smarter than dogs, they feed, clean and walk themselves, they don't smell as bad, and best of all they don't need the constant attention that most dogs seek.

cats are no smart then dogs. They are as nuts as eachother really.
We love them because of the comfort they bring us love when we are lonely. Both cats and dogs will come and cheer you up.
Dogs are there when you come in and so are most cats.
There is no distinction.
Watching cats and dogs play with each other is so funny.
They don't care so why should we.

Cats are annoying, self-centred, nocturnal, evil and sly - I have two and I love them to bits.

I also like dogs - but they take much more work to look after. I like both cats and dogs, not too fond of humans though.

I love cats, they are brill! You never own a cat, they do exactly as they please but they are brilliant companions and have sooo much personality.

I don't dislike dogs, I just don't have the time to look after one. They need more attention than a cat and I just can't do it as I work full time. I would love to have a dog to take for walks tho, I don't think my cat would be even slightly amused if I tried to put her on a lead!!

The answer may be in a quote from ex-supermodel Celia Hammond, 'A lot of men don't like cats because they are not subservient. Men prefer pets they can control, like dogs. They can't handle that get stuffed stare from a cat.
