is it homophobic in your opinion to use terms such as big jessie,
big girls blouse,
one of the girls,
light on the loafers,
a hint of lavender about him,
a bit of a nice boy?

do you think theses terms would offend a gay man?
if you are a gay man do these offend you?
hopefully this question will not and is not inteneded to offend anyone.
if it does please let me know .

As a great big happy gayer personally I say no the phrases probably aren't that bad (although if they were being shouted by a mob of 20st blokes chasing me though the streets then I'd probably disagree with myself).

They are clearly stereotypical of the common perception of gay men, not all of us are particularly camp or sensitive but if one must apply a label to colleagues or friends in a comedy manner.................................

However, the concept of homosexuality being a choice is a little more of a difficult pill to swallow. Can't say as I agree that at some point as a small child/young adult/adult I made a decision to find men physically attractive, no more so than I don't like mango or the feeling of nylon.

Thanks for your viewpoint Bruizedapple ~ as I have already said I am straight, but haven't made that choice, therefore I don't think gay people would either!

Makes perfect sense to me :o)
