The switch on the PSU is turned on (if it has one)
Wires from the case switch are connected the right way round on the mobo pins
Are there any led's lit on the mobo
Is there any way the mobo could be shorting itself
Try the psu on another PC

i am quite experienced 20 ish builds + partial upgrades since p200's
the psu is 100% working from a64 build. however it has only 20 holes not the 20+4 if you know what i mean. there is a small red led that is lit. and the diag led say 2 then go quickly to "00"
tried the power conector both ways around
removed both ram sticks
and all 3 hard drives
gutted i was so up for a bit of 3dmark today

thanks for getting involved mate.
you wont expect this. sorted last night when i tried to clear the cmos with the jumper. i was tired and frustrated and pulled it off with power connected and changed its position. instantly the computer started. the cmos is in reset position by default. duhh??
tech support at yoyotech next to useless and got even worse when i was put through to more senior guy.
i also started to suspect power supply after browsing intel site. and was worrying i had ruined the chip
Once again cheers
