hi all,
i have a pyracantha, the black birds are eating all the berries, while i enjoy watching
them, will this harm the bush, or will the
berries return next year. when is the best time to prune it.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I prune my pyracanth bushes as soon as the birds have eaten all the berries and well before the Spring shoots start to appear again around March. It grows very quickly in spring so don't worry about pruning it hard back at this point if it has become too vigorous. . The white flowers appear around May and new berries will start appearing from the flowers shortly afterwards.
