Clinton, Barack, Richardson or Giuliani...place your bets!

Here's an early book on the 2008 US elections:
Okay here's what I reckon:

Barack will get the majority of the countries vote in the early poles...'Evil' Clinton will attempt to bully and buy her way to power, with success, until a smear campaign digs up some real dirt on her from her past....Richardson will drop away and side with Barack . Barack gets the democratic vote. Giuliani will get the republic vote (there's no one else!) most of the East coast vote Giuliani. In the long run though Barack wins by slim majority.

I know that i'm underestimating Clinton Mk2 here, but even though i'm a democrat, i feel that there is just something obviously 'not right' about her....besides I think that America is still more sexist than racist!

What does anyone else think?

I'd like to see Barack Obama get in just to annoy the bigots. But I don't think it'll happen. Hilary has more of a chance but I don't think she'll make it either, not with her baggage.

Hey great article, thanks for the link. I too would love to see Obama as president. I had completely forgotten about the influence of the Murdoch family and their shoddy attempts at 'news coverage'. Clinton does have a lot of baggage so, if she doesn't make it, Obama doesn't make it.....who could it be? Surely Ex-Major Giuliani's influence can't spread much further from the east coast?

Surely John McCain is the clear favourite? Why doesn't he get a mention?

Barack and Clinton might be getting the column inches at the moment but the US is still too right-wing for any Deomocrat to be regarded as favourite.

I'm sure McCain is ahead of Guilianni in the Republican polls so he's the one to beat.

Let's pray that America sees sense and votes blue though.

I must admit I too thought that more people would have a thought to share over this...after all it will define the UK's role in the world over the next 5-10 years. I must admit I don't know much about John McCain, I have been living in New York for the past 3 months and he didn't really get much of a mention. I do a little research!

I think many are just tired of "All Politics - All the Time" news cycle. Especially when most of the "Next Election" coverage reads liks a gossip column this early in the season. Note the dust-up between Hillary and Barack. Note the talk about Barack's white mother. There are no real issues here. The journalists who cover this kind of gossip do not need to know anything about anything to report on those "tantalizing" tidbits.

It's boring for the most part.

And besides -- to whowhatwhy -- New Yorkers like to talk about New Yorkers. Therefore in New York you will hear Hillary and Rudy.
