Portsmouth won the FA Cup in 1939 and held it until 1946. The Cup was not played 1940-45 - World War II.

As far as I know, the only other team to go unbeaten in the top flight was Preston in 1888/9, the season consisted of 22 games. When Arsenal achieved the feat the season was 38 games. Adding on games from the adjoining seasons their total unbeaten run was 49 games.
Wanderers won he F.A cup three times in a row, 1876-7-8 as did Blackburn Rovers in 1884-5-6.
